Psoriasis

Psoriasis is a chronic inflammation of the skin. It is a non-contagious condition. There are several forms of psoriasis, but generally, the disease is characterized by the appearance of one or more well-defined red patches on areas of the skin that experience friction, such as the elbows or knees, covered with fragments of dry, whitish skin that peel off (scales). When these patches are scratched or scraped, only the redness of the skin remains. The progression of this disease is unpredictable. One might experience a single flare-up or develop new lesions several years later. Psoriasis can significantly impact the quality of life of an affected person. Its consequences should not be neglected, and one should not hesitate to seek help. In fact, currently, all forms of psoriasis, from the mildest to the most severe, can benefit from treatment.
